Vet Insurance ... Yay!

So, on Monday when I had Angel in to the vet, we submitted the claims for that visit and the previous two to our vet insurance company (first time I've had a medical issue that is covered, not simply regular visits).

Logged on yesterday and was able to confirm that the claims were all three received and processing, and today when I logged on, I found that all three are approved and paid.   Chatted in to a representative on their live on-line chat, and found that the cheques should be mailed out today or tomorrow, and received within 7-10 days.

How's that for fast and easy!

For all you pet lovers out there, if you can afford the monthly payment pet insurance can be a really good idea.  While you may never use it, it's nice to know you have something to back you up in case your pet gets sick or injured.  And the sooner you get it covered, the more things will be reimbursed under your policy (pre-existing conditions aren't covered, at least on my policy).  The company I'm with also let's you pick your own deductible, and if you have three or more pets under the same policy, you get a discount on premiums.

Here's a referral link if you're interested in information on pet insurance from Trupanion.

I've got another link I'd like to share, to the website of a shelter called Best Friends Animal Society ... you may have seen them on Animal Planet on Dog Town.

These folks are so amazing with what they do for dogs which have nowhere else to go.  Unless there is a medical reason for euthenasia, if a dog is considered "not adopotable" (which in Dog Town parlance means "not YET adoptable"), they will continue at the shelter and continue being worked with by the fabulous volunteers, working towards the day when that particular animal will be considered adoptable and be looking for it's forever home.  When I watch the show, I'm almost always brought to tears.  Some of the animals which have been rescued have been through such horrific times, but at Dog Town, they have reached a safe haven.
